Setting up Outlook for IMAP:

1. Open Outlook, then go to “Tools -> Accounts -> Add -> Email”

2. Enter your desired name for the account and click “Next”

3. Input your email address and click “Next ”

4. Choose IMAP as your incoming mail server. Enter the names of your incoming and outgoing mail servers. In both, type “mail” followed by your domain name (Example: mail.your-domain.com). Click “Next “.

5. In “Account Name”, enter the email address you want to configure. Ensure your address consists of your email account name followed by “@” and your domain name. Enter your password. Check the “Remember password” box. Click “Next”

6. On the final screen, click “Finish”. Then, go to “Tools -> Accounts” and double-click the configured email account. Next, click the “General” tab.

  • Email Account: Your complete email address.
  • Name: Your email account name.
  • Email Address: Your complete email address.
  • Check “Include account when receiving email or syncing.”
  • Leave other fields empty.

7. Click the servers tab.

  • Incoming mail: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Outgoing mail: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Account name: Enter your full email account name. For example, your-email@domain.com
  • Password: Your password.
  • Check the “Remember” box.
  • Check the “My server requires authentication” box.
  • Click “Apply”

8. Go to the “Advanced Options” tab:

  • Outgoing mail: 25
  • Incoming mail: 143
  • Uncheck the “Server requires a secure connection (SSL)” checkboxes.

9. Go to the IMAP tab:

  • Root folder path: INBOX. – (Make sure to include a period after INBOX in capital letters.)

10. Click OK. Your account is now set up.

IMPORTANT: For IMAP email to sync your folders correctly, they must have the same name on all devices. You can’t call them “Inbox” in Outlook and “Incoming Mail” on your iPhone. They must have the same name.
