Not all Android email apps work well with IMAP accounts. We recommend downloading K-9 Mail, which is free at the following link:

To set up your email account on an Android, follow these instructions:
1. Access your phone’s menu, open the email program, and tap “Add new account”
2. Enter your email address and password and tap “Manual setup”
3. Tap “IMAP”
4. On the “Incoming Server Settings” screen, enter the following information:
- Username: Enter your full email address, for example, your-email@domain.com.
- Password: Your email account password.
- IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.com (for example: mail.domain.com).
- Security Type: None.
- Authentication Type: Plain.
- Port: 143.
- IMAP Address Prefix: INBOX. (Make sure to include a period after INBOX in capital letters).
Click “Next”
5. On the “Outgoing Server Settings” screen, enter the following information:
- SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- Security Type: None
- Port: 25
- Check the “Requires authentication” box.
- Authentication Type: Automatic
- Username: Enter the full name of your email account. For example, your-email@domain.com
- Password: The password for your email account.
Click “Next”
6. On the “Account Options” screen, choose the options that interest you most.
7. Name your account and tap “Done”
8. Your email account is set up now.
IMPORTANT: For IMAP email to sync folders correctly, they must have the same name on all devices. You can’t use “Inbox” in Outlook and “Incoming Mail” on your iPhone; they must have the same name.
