To set up an IMAP email account on your iPhone 6 / 6s, enter your email settings manually.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to your phone’s “Settings”.

2. Click on “Email”

3. Choose “Add Account”

4. Next, select “Other”

5. Click “Add Email Account”

6. On this screen, fill in the required fields:

  • Your Name: The name you want to display when sending an email.
  • Email Address: The email address you’re configuring. Example: your-account@domain.com
  • Password: The password for your email account.
  • Description: The complete name of your email account. Example: your-account@domain.com.

7. After entering your details, click “Next”

8. Choose IMAP.

9. Next provide the following details:

  • Incoming mail server:
    • Server name: mail.yourdomain.com (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)
    • Username: The full name of your email account. For example: your-account@domain.com
    • Password: The password for your email account.
  • Outgoing mail server:
    • Server name: mail.yourdomain.com (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)
    • Username: The full name of your email account. For example: your-account@domain.com
    • Password: The password for your email account.

10. Click “Next”. If you see “Unable to verify server identity”, click “Details”.

11. The certificate will appear on the next screen. Click “Trust”.

12. “Save” the account.

Important! After completing step 9, if you see a message stating, “Could not connect using SSL. Do you want to set up the account without SSL?” press “YES”.

13. Next, go to Settings > Mail and select the account you just saved. This will show options to sync your mail, notes, or delete the account. Scroll to the top and select the IMAP account.

14. On the next screen, look for the following options:

  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
  • Advanced

15. Select “Outgoing Mail Server”. In these settings, click “Primary Server” and make the following changes:

  • Hostname: mail.domain.com
  • Username: your-account@domain.com
  • Password: Your account password.
  • Use SSL: OFF
  • Authentication: Password
  • Server port: 25

After making the changes, click “OK”.

16. Return to the screen in step 14 and select “Advanced”. On this screen, find the “Input Settings” option and check that the following fields are configured correctly:

  • Use SSL: OFF
  • Authentication: Password
  • IMAP path prefix: INBOX. – It is very important to include the period ( . ) after the word INBOX in uppercase.
  • Server port: 143

After checking the fields, click on “Account” and on the next screen, save the changes by pressing “OK”.

17. Ready, you have successfully configured your IMAP email account on your iPhone 6 / 6s.
