This message appears in email accounts on iPhones because of the annual update of the email server’s security certificate, which is necessary for iPhone security.

This message concerning Space WWW relates to the SSL certificate for our spacewww.net network, which is linked to all mail servers.

In most email programs, changing the security certificate brings up a warning screen where you can accept the new certificate. However, on mobile devices like iPhones, this option is not available, and a warning appears every few seconds stating, “Unable to verify server identity.”

To fix this issue and remove the notification for normal account use, please follow these instructions:

Change the names of the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

  1. Obtain the server name for this configuration by visiting https://spacewww.com/Mail_Server.php
  2. When you enter your domain name, it will display the mail server you need to use. It will have a name like “svXX.spacewww.net”, with XX replaced by a number.
  3. On your iPhone, go to “Settings” and then “Mail”
  4. Navigate to the “Accounts” option.
  5. Select the account you wish to configure, then click on your account name again.
  6. In the “Incoming Mail Server” section, update the “Hostname” to the new mail server you obtained in step 2.
  7. Next, select “SMTP” -> “Primary Server”
  8. On the following screen, in the “Outgoing Mail Server” section, update the “Hostname” to the new mail server you obtained in step 2.
  9. Click on “OK” -> “Account” -> “OK” -> “Back,” and repeat this process for each of your email accounts.
